Barwaaqo NPCU Engages South West Ministries Ahead of Mid-Term Review

Members of the National Project Coordination Unit (NPCU) of the Somalia Rural Resilience Project (Barwaaqo), under the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, together with the South West State Project Implementation Unit (PIU), carried out a visit to the relevant line ministries of South West State in Baidoa. The NPCU delegation — led by the National Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Mr. Abdirahim Ibrahim Mohamed (Mudey), met with representatives from the Ministries of Energy and Water Resources, Livestock, Agriculture and Irrigation, Environment, and Planning. The visit focused on reviewing project progress, discussing key achievements and challenges, and collecting field data and insights to inform the upcoming Midterm Review, scheduled for mid-August 2025. The mission highlights the Barwaaqo Project’s commitment to close coordination with federal and state institutions to strengthen rural resilience and sustainable livelihoods across Somalia’s drylands.
